Police Blotter: Resident Has Unexpected Fake Interview

A Beech Hill Road resident said he was stopped on his street by two men who claimed to work for WCLV-FM and requested to speak to him regarding politics around 11:30 a.m. on Oct. 20. The resident noticed they had a microphone, and he asked if he was being recorded. They said yes and stated they were doing it for the radio station. The man later called the station, and the media outlet said they didn’t have anyone soliciting or recording anything for them. The man didn’t want to file a report but wanted to alert police.

Theft, assault at high school: An iPhone and $85 were reported stolen from the Mayfield High School boys’ locker rooms in the gymnasium and football facilities within hours of each other on Oct. 24. Also, an assault was reported from the football locker room a few hours after the reports.

DUI: A woman was cited for a DUI after being involved in an accident with another vehicle on the evening of Oct. 27 at the intersection of Wilson Mills Road and SOM Center Road. The woman, traveling with a child and two dogs, was also cited for not giving full attention to her driving.

Accident, citation: Two vehicles were involved in an accident under the bridge overlooking Interstate 271 near Wilson Mills Rd. on Oct. 17. One car was pulled into the Holiday Inn parking lot. No one was injured, but one driver was cited for not maintaining the proper distance between vehicles.

Bad bump: Two cars were involved in an accident in the northbound lanes of I-271 the evening of Oct. 19. One driver was cited for not maintaining the proper distance between vehicles.

Speeding and DUI: A man was cited for a DUI and speeding while driving northbound on I-271 in the early morning hours of Oct. 20.
