Police Blotter: Open Burning and Harassing Phone Calls

Information supplied by the Gates Mills Police Department.

Police received complaints Saturday morning of open burning taking place on Foxhill Drive. Officers were dispatched to the area for further investigation following the 8:13 a.m. call. That led to Gates Mills Fire Chief Thomas Robinson advising the property owner to stop the burning until obtaining the necessary permits from the village.

A Woodstock Road resident called police at 9:28 p.m. Thursday to report receiving threatening phone calls from his ex-wife. After speaking with an officer, the man decided not to pursue criminal charges. He stated he only wanted police to document the complaint for future reference.

Police responded to a motor vehicle crash Thursday evening at the intersection of Cedar and SOM Center soads. The crash, reported at 5:03 p.m., involved two vehicles and there were no injuries.  Due to minor damage, both parties agreed to sign crash waivers.
