Police Blotter: Man Tries to Scam Woman, Then Gives Her His Number

Information provided by the Mayfield Village Police Department

• A man was arrested on July 1 after a caller reported his car had gone off the road going north on Interstate 271. Police found the man in his car in between the express and local lanes. Police charged the man with driving drunk and he was taken to jail, but later bonded out.

• An Oakton Circle resident called police on July 2 after receiving several phone calls from a man who claimed she had just won some money. She asked the caller for his phone number and when he gave it, she told him she knew it was a scam and she was calling police. The man then started swearing at the woman.

• Police were called twice within 25 minutes on July 2 about two men walking door-to-door selling magazines. They first stopped on Seneca Road and then headed to Wilson Mills Road. Police found the men and told them to stop or else they would be arrested.
