Police Blotter: Man Missed Work Because He Was In Jail

Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department.

An employer called on May 2 and wanted police to check the welfare of a Maplewood Road resident, who had not been to work in Highland Heights since April 26 and was not answering his cell phone. The man had never missed work before. Police told the caller that the man was in jail.

A Marsol Road man reported at 3:30 p.m. May 5 that juveniles were throwing sticks onto his balcony. Police talked to two juveniles and the parents of one of the kids.

A Belrose Road resident called at 11:27 p.m. May 4 to complain that a neighbor was playing basketball in the driveway next to his bedroom window. Police talked to the neighbor.

A truck pulled down wires at 10:22 a.m. May 4 on SOM Center Road. Police said the wires appeared to be from the phone or cable company and were stuck between the cab and trailer of the truck. The fire department cleared the lot near the wires and barricaded the site.

A caller saw a female wearing a T-shirt, shorts and flip flops run into Knollwood Cemetery at 11:35 p.m. May 3 and thought it was suspicious. Then she saw a gray Blazer driving around the area suspiciously. The man in the Blazer checked OK and was visiting a friend. He was told to come back during normal hours.

A caller said a man in a red Escape had some sort of tool in his hand and charged at another motorist at 9:46 p.m. on Mayfield Road near . The other car was disabled and had no lights on. The driver of that car told police that the other man came at him with a golf club, but he did not want any police action taken.
