Police Blotter: Man Arrested For Marijuana Possession

Information supplied by the Highland Heights Police Department

A driver was stopped on Bishop Rd. and arrested for being in possession of marijuana on the evening of July 1. Although the driver tested fine and wasn’t under the influence, he was also arrested for having expired plates.

Facebook threats: A woman said she had been receiving threatening and harassing messages on Facebook from another woman on the evening of June 26. According to the woman, the other woman’s message said she’s a horrible mother and is going to beat up and kill her. The woman doesn’t want to file charges at this time and just wanted it logged. The woman was also advised to contact the Richmond Heights Police Department.

Domestic violence: A Highland Rd. woman said her boyfriend assaulted her and threw a brick through her car window the morning of June 26. When police arrived, the man was not on the scene. The woman had neck and arm injuries.

Dog returned: A black and white Chihuahua with a pink collar was found at Highlander Tavern on Bishop Rd. the evening of July 1. The lost dog was given to the Highland Heights Police Department. Police found the dog’s owner on Wilson Mills Rd. and learned its name is “Lilly.”

Hit and run: A woman said another woman struck her car in the parking lot of Panera Bread on Wilson Mills Rd. on the evening on July 1. The driver left the scene.

License suspension: A driver was cited for driving under suspension while driving in the express lane of I-271 on the morning of June 29.

Trespassing concerns: A Barkston Dr. resident said he believes a man from Belwood Dr. is trespassing on his property at night and has been egging and shooting pellets at his house for the past few years. The man was advised to alert police if such future incidents occur on the afternoon of June 29.

Door broken: A woman on Kenarden Dr. came home to find her front storm door was shattered the afternoon of June 28. She didn’t see that anything was missing or out of place at her home.

Accident: A three-vehicle accident occurred the afternoon of June 27 on Wilson Mills Rd. that involved a Waste Management truck, a Dodge truck and an SUV that blocked traffic. There were no injuries.

Another hit and run: A Wilson Mills Rd. resident said her car was hit on Alpha Rd. near Kohl’s department store on the afternoon of June 25. She said a white truck struck her car. Police checked a lead in South Euclid and found a white Chevy Tahoe there. No report was filed, but the people involved said they will settle it themselves.
