Police Blotter: Lightning Strikes Old Mill Road House

Information supplied by the Gates Mills Police Department

An Old Mill Road resident called 911 at 4:12 p.m. Sept. 11 and said her house has been struck by lightning. Police and fire personnel went to scene. No one was injured by the lightning strike.

A County Line Road resident reported hearing numerous gunshots at 5:33 p.m. Sept. 11. An officer checked the area but didn't see anyone firing a gun.

An accident was reported at 1:22 p.m. Sept. 15 at SOM Center and Cedar roads. The crash involved two cars, one of which was in a funeral procession. One of the drivers, a 45-year-old Gates Mills woman, complained of possible injuries was treated at Hillcrest Hospital.

A two-car accident was reported at 3:27 p.m. Sept. 15 on Mayfield Road. There were no injuries. An 82-year-old Chesterland man was cited for failing to stop in an assured clear distance ahead.

Police were called at 1:17 p.m. Sept. 18 about an adult missing from a Battles Road house. Officers searched and found the man in a wooded area behind the house.
