Police Blotter: Hot Tub Not Relaxing for Neighbor

A Genesee Avenue resident called police at 12:57 a.m. May 6 because a neighbor's hot tub kept coming on every few minutes and keeping her awake, even with the windows closed. Police talked to the hot tub's owner and it was shut off for the night.

Two boys were shooting off fireworks while walking past Oakville Park at 6:15 p.m. May 5.

A man stole four Bluetooth headsets from a Mayfield Road business at 5:40 p.m. May 5.

Two suspicious men in an older, beat-up car appeared to be watching people using an automated teller machine at 4:45 p.m. May 5 at a bank on SOM Center Road. Police checked on the men and said the ATM couldn't be seen from where they were parked.

An Elmwood Road resident complained about speeders at 8:35 a.m. May 5. She said cars speed down the street every morning while cutting through on the way to school.

A SOM Center Road resident reported seeing a wheelchair in the front yard next door at 4:39 p.m. May 3 and thought it might have been stolen. The wheelchair was the property of Hillcrest Hospital and was returned.

A landlord said a man became upset after being served an eviction notice at 1:23 p.m. May 3 on Marnell Avenue. The man was talking in the third person and making threats toward other tenants. Police said the man appeared to be having a nervous breakdown and was taken to Hillcrest Hospital.

A Sunset Road woman called at 5:30 p.m. May 4 and said three men walking on Ridgebury Boulevard kicked her dog in the throat and it was vomiting blood. She did not see the men kicking the dog, but heard it yelp. She also said that the dog might also have been sick because of weed killer that was applied to the yard.

A man refused to leave after being caught going through trash bins at 11:25 a.m. May 4 at Hillcrest Hospital. The man apparently changed his mind, as he left before police arrived.

A Longwood Drive resident flagged down an officer at 9:03 a.m. May 4 and said a neighbor watched as a little girl picked flowers from his yard the previous day.
