Police Blotter: Homeless Man was Relaxing in Driveway

A caller at 8:35 a.m. May 7 said a man was sitting in a chair in the driveway next door to his daughter's home on Wilson Mills Road. He said they didn't know the man, who was described as elderly and wearing light-colored pants and carrying a blue bag. Police spoke to the neighbor, but the man was no longer there. He was found a few minutes later near the city park. Police said the man was homeless and living in a Wickliffe motel. He was meeting a relative at a garden center.

A woman called at 10:48 a.m. May 8 and wanted to speak to an officer about a scam she thought police should know about. The scam involved a man who told her she won a prize and told her to send money.

Police were told that someone was cutting grass at 11:55 p.m. May 6 at a Highland Road residence. A man was arrested for disorderly conduct.

A caller at 8:03 a.m. May 3 complained that a banged-up silver car had been sitting on Lowell Drive for two or three days. Police talked to the car's owner, who said her son drives his car to that address every day and rides to work with a friend. She said the car is moved every day by 6 p.m.

An East Glengary resident called at 11:55 a.m. May 3 about a suspicious man in a beat-up car driving slowly and looking at houses. Police said the man checked OK and was selling a Life Alert system.
