Police Blotter: Historical Marker Plaque Stolen From Lawn

A representative of the Gates Mills Historical Society called police at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 8 to report the theft of a plaque. An officer met with the caller, who said sometime in the last several days an unknown person stole a historical marker plaque from the lawn of the Society’s Old Mill Road location. The theft is under investigation.

A Woodstock Road resident came to the police station at 1:02 p.m. Aug. 8 to file a report about harassing communications she has been receiving from her boyfriend's ex-wife since 2009. She did not want to pursue criminal charges.

An officer stopped a car for speeding Aug. 9 on Brigham Road and the 27-year-old driver had a suspended driver's license. The Columbus woman was cited for speeding, driving while under suspension and driving without a valid license. A licensed driver took her car from the scene.

A 911 caller at 5:35 p.m. Aug. 11 reported a crash on SOM Center Road. There were no injuries in the two-car accident. One of the drivers, a 48-year-old Kent woman, was cited for failing to stop within an assured clear distance ahead.
