Police Blotter: Driver Earns Litany of Citations

Information supplied by the Mayfield Village Police Department

A driver was cited for speeding, driving under suspension and without a license, fleeing an officer, willful disregard for safety and no driver’s license. Police followed the vehicle on I-90 East approaching State Road 306 and pulled him over at exit 193.

Weird request: A employee reported to store management about receiving a phone call asking if the store had video cameras in the parking lot and if they could be viewed from inside the store the evening of Aug. 21. The employee said they did have such equipment but didn’t know if they could be viewed from inside the store. The employee advised the manager to call the corporate office and contact police.

GPS Theft: An Aintree Park Dr. resident said his GPS and audio cables were stolen from his vehicle during the evening of Aug. 19. The man’s 2008 black Pontiac G6 was parked in the rear lot off the cul de sac by Aintree Park.

Accident: A driver hit another vehicle in the parking lot the afternoon of Aug. 21. No injuries occurred, but the driver was cited for failing to maintain an assured cleared distance and for having an unsafe vehicle with brakes that weren’t working properly.
