Police Blotter: Headstone Found in Creek Was from Pet Cemetery

Two women in the police station lobby at 2:46 a.m. Aug. 12 wanted to talk to an officer about a possible sexual assault in Willoughby Hills involving a friend.

A car was parked for a week at Home Depot on Wilson Mills Road, a caller reported at 12:35 p.m. Aug. 11. The car had Michigan license plates. Store management said they would contact property owners about having the car removed.

A Lyndhurst woman reported at 1:51 p.m. Aug. 10 that sometime on July 26 she lost a briefcase that contained resumes, wedding pictures and various papers. She lost it somewhere between Anderson and Richmond roads and Interstate 271, but couldn't remember if she took Wilson Mills Road or Highland Road that day.

A woman came to the police station at 10 a.m. Aug. 8 to drop off a checkbook and miscellaneous papers she found on Medway Road. The items belonged to a Warrensville Heights resident.

A small brown dog was found on the side of the road at 10:09 a.m. Aug. 7 at Miner and Highland roads. The woman who found the dog was unable to contact its owner, but a neighbor agreed to take care of the animal until the owner returned home.

A garbage can lid and grill cover were reported missing at 1:58 p.m. Aug. 7 on Lowell Drive.

A wire was down across a Rose Boulevard yard at 3:23 p.m. Aug. 6. CEI was contacted about the problem and was at the scene at 6:06 p.m.

An intoxicated man was lying on the ground in the vestibule area at St. Paschal Baylon Church at 7:54 p.m. Aug. 5. The man, who had a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear in Lyndhurst court, was taken to Hillcrest Hospital.
