Police Blotter: Fired Employee Attacked Owner With Vacuum

The owner of a Mayfield Road business called police at 1:26 p.m. Nov. 7 after he fired an employee and the man attacked him with a vacuum. Police told the fired employee not to return or face arrest for trespassing. A few minutes later, an officer went to a bus stop to hand the man his final paycheck.

A man said he just hit a deer with his Ford pickup at 12:47 a.m. Nov. 10 on Interstate 271 southbound. He said the truck had front end damage, but was operable.

A caller at 7:04 p.m. Nov. 9 complained about dogs howling on Summit Drive. A resident said her German shepherd was in heat and there was little she could do. The dog did not howl while the officer was at the house.

A prisoner wanted to talk to a jailer at 4:22 p.m. Nov. 9 because he thought about hurting himself. He was moved so he had someone to talk to and that satisfied the man so he no longer wanted to hurt himself.

A man had a car towed in front of a Mayfield Road repair shop and then decided not to have work done there. The dealership called police at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 8 because the car was left on the street near the service entrance. Police talked to the owner, who had called for a tow truck.
