Police Blotter: Fire Breaks Out on Belwood

The Highland Heights Fire Department responded to a fire on Belwood Dr. as the resident living there reported the back of his home was burning the evening of Aug. 22. The fire departments of Mayfield Village, Richmond Heights and Lyndhurst were all alerted to the blaze. The home was completely evacuated and no one was reportedly injured.
Dispute: Various people reportedly said a fight broke out at in the early morning hours on Aug. 22. Those involved left the scene heading westbound on Highland Rd. Police arrived to discover that no fight had occurred and that the arguments between the people involved yelling and some pushing. But police found a man on the scene that had a warrant from the Cuyahoga County Sherriff’s Office and Highland Heights police picked him up.
Theft: A Diana Court resident reported that his son had his bike stolen from a friend’s house on South Applecross Rd. the afternoon of Aug. 23. The bike was a gray, silver or blue Nishiki touring bike.

Intoxication: An off duty officer came across an intoxicated 16-year-old girl at during the early morning of Aug. 19. The officer waited until EMS arrived, and Mayfield Heights police picked her up. She was eventually sent to .
