Police Blotter: Facebook Friendship Turned Sour

News from the Gates Mills Police Department

A 49-year-old Gates Mills woman went to the police station at 1:29 p.m. March 22 to report that she was being harassed by an old high school classmate.

She said she and the classmate started communicating via Facebook. Over the past few months, the former classmate began proclaiming uncomfortable and unwanted messages on her Facebook page and on her cell phone.

She was advised to block any unwanted individuals from her account. Others involved were informed by police that future communication was unwanted and that criminal charges could be filed if they failed to stop.
