Police Blotter: Duck Caused Traffic Congestion on Mayfield Road

An injured duck was blocking traffic at 8:48 p.m. July 27 on Mayfield Road. It was in the entrance to Dairy Queen and cars were backing up because they didn't want to turn into the lot, a caller said. The duck flew away and traffic cleared.

A woman on Mayfield Ridge said she was sitting on her front porch at 11:30 p.m. July 27 and saw a man walking down the street who laid down in bushes when a car went by. Police checked and were unable to find the man.

A caller at 11:04 p.m. July 27 said two men were knocking down motorcycles in a Mayfield Road apartment lot. Police checked with the owners of the two motorcycles and neither wanted to file a report.

A hospital patient said someone broke into her car on July 27 and took a cellphone and charger and GPS unit and charger.

A woman called police at 6:55 p.m. July 27 and said she was unable to use a South Park with her children the last few evenings because older juveniles at the park were using foul language. Police spoke to eight juveniles and told them to leave the tot land area.

A Fox Hollow woman told police at 8:17 p.m. July 26 that she let a contractor use her phone and now it didn't work. An officer was able to get the phone working.

A Mayfield Road man called police at 11:57 a.m. July 26 because he paid movers and the driver took off before the job had been finished. He was advised that it is a civil matter.

An Eastwood Avenue woman told police at 12:34 a.m. July 25 that her intoxicated husband threatened her with a gun. Police said the woman was also intoxicated and changed her story a few times. Police took the man to his mother's home.
