Police Blotter: Driver Lost Control of Car with Officer Watching

An officer saw a car weaving at 9:43 a.m. Aug. 4 on Mayfield Road. The car then drifted into the median strip and hit a sign. The driver, a 23-year-old man from Delphos, OH, said his brakes failed and he was unable to stop. He was cited for operating an unsafe vehicle, failure to wear a seat belt, weaving and failure to maintain reasonable control of his car.
Police were called at 1:09 p.m. Aug. 3 about a suspicious car parked near a gas well on Gates Road. An officer checked and said the car belonged to the owner of the property.
A one-car crash was reported at 9:42 p.m. Aug. 3 on Chagrin River Road. The driver, a 22-year-old Chesterland man, said he lost control on a curve and hit a guardrail. He was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control of his car.

A West Hill Road resident called police at 6:52 p.m. Aug. 7 about annoying phone calls. She said she received numerous prank calls in the last several weeks. She did not want to pursue criminal charges.
