Police Blotter: Driver in Accident Distracted by Cell Phone

A 24-year-old Mentor man was using his cell phone when he crashed his car at 1:39 a.m. Jan. 22 on SOM Center Road. No one was injured and the man was cited for failing to maintain full time and attention while driving.

A domestic disturbance was reported at 1:44 p.m. Jan. 21 on Brigham Road. Police said a mother and her 46-year-old daughter had an argument and the daughter agreed to leave.

A Cottesworth Lane resident said there was a suspicious person at the door at 1:58 p.m. Jan. 22. Police said the person's car had broken down in the area.

A 37-year-old Brecksville man swerved off the road and hit a traffic sign at 4:50 p.m. Jan. 22 on County Line Road. He told police that he had to move out of the way of a car driven by a 16-year-old South Russell girl who was pulling out of the Hawken School driveway.
