Police Blotter: Driver Dries Out in Jail

A 45-year-old Cleveland driver was charged with several alcohol-related offenses on Gates Mills Blvd. the evening of July 28. Police received reports of a vehicle traveling westbound on the road’s eastbound lanes. An officer stopped the car and found her to be intoxicated. She was arrested and charged with driving on the wrong side of a divided roadway, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and refusing to submit to a breath test. She was jailed until she posted bond.
Disappearing driver found: A 17-year-old Shaker Heights driver was charged with several infractions after police discovered he had left his vehicle unoccupied on Gates Mills Blvd. during the early morning of July 24. Police determined during an investigation there was a single-car crash involving the vehicle. The driver was charged with failure to control the vehicle, reckless operation, failure to remain at the scene of a motor vehicle accident and failure to report a vehicle accident resulting in damage to realty.
Another accident: Two vehicles were involved in an accident on Wilson Mills Rd. the evening of July 27. Police said no one was injured. One of the drivers, 18, from Chesterland, was cited for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.

Alpaca sighting: A Timberidge Trail resident spotted several alpacas in the area in the afternoon of July 25. An officer located the animals and secured them on their owner’s property.
