Police Blotter: Deer was Getting Some Sun on City Property

A deer was sitting in the sun near the service department for about four hours on May 30. Police said it did not appear to be injured. An animal control service told police to leave it for its mother, who would likely return in a few hours. A bowl of water was left outside for the animal.

A caller wanted an officer to come to the city park at 7:41 p.m. June 1 because a baby raccoon scratched a couple of kids. Police said the kids went into the woods, brought the animal out and started playing with it. No one was scratched.

A Cranbrook Drive woman called at 9:55 a.m. June 1 and said a landscaper damaged her back yard. She was told it was a civil matter.

A resident called the fire department on June 1 and said a garbage truck took down utility lines on Belwood Drive. Police checked and it was a phone line and the resident contacted the phone company about the problem.

A Lowell Drive woman didn't know who was knocking at the front door for about 10 minutes at 10:20 a.m. May 31. She said she was unable to see anyone. The person then went to the back door and knocked. Police said the person at the door was the caller's grandmother.

A West Inverness resident was receiving calls on May 29 that she won prize money, which would be delivered at 2:30 p.m. She thought it was a scam and requested special attention to her home at that time. Police responded and said there was no cause for concern.

A man came into the police station at 3:52 p.m. May 28 and said a deer ran into his car on Ridgebury Boulevard near Brainard Road.
