Police Blotter: Deer Found in Yard Had Been Hit With Arrow

An injured deer was bleeding and in pain at 12:48 p.m. Jan. 22 in a Norman Lane yard. Police checked and the deer had been hit by an arrow. Tracks led to South Woodlane, where there was deer feed. Police said someone might had been trying to lure deer. Police gathered evidence to investigate for possible charges of discharging a weapon in the village and animal cruelty.

A woman came to the police station at 1:14 a.m. Jan. 23 because her 17-year-old daughter went to a friend's house several hours earlier and didn't come home. An officer tried to reach the girl at numbers provided by her mother but was unable to do so. The girl then called her mother 10 minutes later and said she was on her way home. The woman told police she didn't want to file an unruly juvenile report.

A towing company on SOM Center Road called at 2 p.m. Jan. 22 after an employee waited for a man to pick up a car and he didn't show. After leaving work, the man finally called and was told he'd have to wait another day. The man responded that he "will" get his keys, so the employee called police to pay special attention to the business.

A patrolman working a basketball game on Wilson Mills Road reported at 9:19 p.m. Jan. 20 that a juvenile passed out and might have alcohol poisoning. The juvenile was taken to .
