Police Blotter: Dead Deer Bothered Customers at Restaurant

Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department.

The service department night crew was told to pick up a dead deer at 7:53 p.m. Nov. 20. The deer had been picked up by Lyndhurst police and placed by a Mayfield Road pizza shop, which was then receiving complaints from patrons. Mayfield Heights police called Lyndhurst police and were told they do not call in service employees on overtime for that type of call. Mayfield service workers went and removed the animal carcass.

A Golden Gate Boulevard resident called at 4:18 a.m. Nov. 20 and said neighbors were having a loud party and it sounded like a dog was being abused. Police checked and the apartment was quiet. They told the residents about the complaint and they were told the residents were going to bed for the night.

A Mayfield Road woman called at 9:54 p.m. Nov. 20 and wanted an officer to take keys to her boyfriend in Mayfield Village. When told police do not provide that service, she threatened to kill herself and hung up. Police talked to the woman, who was intoxicated and upset because no one would pick up her boyfriend.

A Lander Road resident called at 1:32 p.m. Nov. 21 to report neighbor trouble. She said her dog was going on the neighbor's property and the neighbor was harassing her about it. The neighbor then put white powder on the lawn, which the caller was concerned might harm the dog. However, she did not want police to talk to the neighbor.

A pizza restaurant on Mayfield Road called at 3:13 p.m. Nov. 19 after a woman called there and said her bank told her about a suspicious charge of $28 on her credit card. She said she was never at the pizza shop and wanted her money back. The pizza had been delivered to a Mayfield Road address. Police took a fraud report.
