Police Blotter: Customer Doesn't Appreciate Photo Shoot

Information supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department

A Maple Heights woman reported that an employee of took pictures of her and posted them along with derogatory comments about her on Facebook while she was having her car serviced there the evening of July 28. Police told her it was a civil matter and that she should contact Ganley’s corporate office. The woman later reported the company had disciplined the employee.

Sticky situation: Police arrested a man for criminal mischief for placing stickers on Ridgebury Blvd. street signs the afternoon of July 29. The man wore a baseball cap and shorts and had a beard. Mayfield Heights and Mayfield Village police teamed up to catch the man. The stickers were removed from the signs. The incident is still under investigation.

Wrong order: An employee of the claimed that he wasn’t placing large pizza orders to and other pizza shops the afternoon of July 26. The employee said the orders were being placed falsely under his name. Police told him to have the businesses obtain phone numbers through caller ID or verify the caller before delivering the food items.

Taser incident: An officer had to taser a man atwho was charged with committing assault the evening of July 27. The man had assaulted a woman at the hospital. After being tased, the man was kept in the hospital’s care over several days. The incident is still under investigation.

Animal bite: A pit bull running loose on Elmwood Ave. bit another dog that was being walked by its owner the evening of July 29. The resident who lived on the street and owned the pit bull received a citation.

Bad checks: A man attempted to cash stolen checks at and was arrested the afternoon of July 27. The incident is still under investigation.

Push, shove: A woman pushed a store manager at the afternoon of July 29. While the woman was still in the store, the manager requested the woman be removed, but she left before the police arrived.

Bike theft: A Beachwood man reported that his bike was stolen at on the morning of July 26. He said the lock had been cut.

Violence at hospital: A man was taken into custody for domestic violence in the OB/GYN section of the morning of July 26.

Theft: A Marsol Rd. man reported four tires and two exhausts systems left in a parking space were taken on the afternoon of July 28.

Fraudulent charges: A resident reported the afternoon of July 26 that they lost their credit card on Feb. 21 of this year and fraudulent charges have been placed on it.

Nice friends: A Maplewood Rd. resident said the afternoon of July 26 that people living with her took her car when they moved out and didn’t return it.

Jewelry taken: A Cantwell Dr. resident reported that jewelry had been stolen from her locked car the morning of July 28.
