Police Blotter: Car Windows Smashed at Mayfield Road Apartment Building

A Gates Mills Place resident said the windshield was smashed on his Ford truck while it was parked in the garage at the Mayfield Road apartment building.
A woman walked up to officers at 8:56 a.m. Feb. 15 at Gates Mills Place on Mayfield Road and said a window was smashed on her car and a GPS unit and iPod were taken.
A woman said at 5:45 p.m. Jan. 13 that she used a debit card earlier in the day at Speedway on Mayfield Road and the card fell out of her pocket while she was pumping gas. She was notified by a text message that it had been used.
Staff at a Landerbrook Drive dental office reported Jan. 13 that they were receiving harassing calls from a debt collection agency for a former employee.
A motorist told the city's service department director at 2:12 p.m. Jan. 13 that there was a ticking noise coming from a suitcase next to a garbage can outside the Ohio License Bureau at Golden Gate Plaza. The bomb squad arrived at the scene at 3:23 p.m.
A man called from Florida at 5:47 p.m. Jan. 12 after getting off the phone with his girlfriend, who claimed her daughter was holding her captive in a green minivan on Woodrow Avenue. Police said the granddaughter went into her house with her parents and the grandmother went home to South Euclid.
An unknown woman stole about $800 worth of fragrances from Ulta Beauty, an employee reported on Jan. 11. There was a photo from a surveillance camera and store management wanted the incident logged in case the woman returned.
A man wearing a ski mask was walking in the road at 9:22 a.m. Jan. 11 on Mayfield Road near the Interstate 271 bridges. He was throwing his arms up in the air and was a hazard to motorists, according to a caller. The man was no longer in the roadway when police checked.
