Police Blotter: Car Takes Out Sign on Gates Mills Boulevard

An officer saw at 4:18 a.m. Oct. 18 that a car hit the curb and a traffic sign on Gates Mills Boulevard. The driver, a 40-year-old Rocky River man, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence, failing to maintain reasonable control of his car and operating a car with a prohibited blood alcohol content. He was released from jail after posting bond.

A 911 caller reported a two-car crash at 12:50 p.m. Oct. 21 on Mayfield Road. One of the cars left the scene. Police caught up with the driver, a 21-year-old Burton man, and he was charged with failing to stop in an assured clear distance ahead, leaving the scene of an accident and failing to display a driver’s license.

Two brothers were fighting at 2:20 a.m. Oct. 22 at a Gates Road house. One of the brothers, a 21-year-old Gates Mills resident, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. He was released from jail after posting bond.
