Police Blotter: Car Ambushed With Eggs on Gates Mills Boulevard

A woman said she turned from SOM Center Road to Gates Mills Boulevard at 6:26 p.m. March 6 when a boy came out of the bushes and threw eggs at her car. He was wearing a navy blue sweatshirt. Police were unable to find the suspect and told the woman to call if there was damage to her car.

A caller at 12:59 a.m. March 7 wanted police to check on a daughter-in-law on Mayfield Ridge Road who was threatening suicide. A man from Maryland told the caller that the woman was bi-polar and not taking her medicine. Police said the woman showed no signs of harming herself and the Maryland man, who is her husband, was going to contact an attorney about getting a divorce.

A woman at Papa Johns Pizza on Mayfield Road at 11:05 p.m. March 6 threatened to return with two guys and jump an employee.

An elderly Washington Boulevard resident called police at 1:10 p.m. March 5 after receiving several scam phone calls. An officer talked to the resident about how to handle the calls.

A bag of shoes was stolen from an elevator at 12:09 a.m. March 5 at a Mayfield Road apartment building. The victim said he was moving out of the building and would check with management to see if a camera in the elevator was working.

A man and woman were soliciting at 6:07 p.m. March 3 on Rosebury Court. Police said the pair were working for Dominion and were told they needed to get a permit.

An intoxicated man passed out by the entrance at 1:12 p.m. March 3 at Walmart on Mayfield Road. Police sent the man on his way and told him he was no longer welcome at the store.

A woman said at 6:34 p.m. March 2 that she was stopped at the traffic light at Mayfield and Brainard roads when the car in front of her went in reverse, hit her and then drove away. Her call had been transferred to Lyndhurst police, which transferred it back. An officer told both parties that they needed to go to Lyndhurst to file a report.

A man called at 2:29 p.m. March 2 to work that three men in a suspicious white truck came to a Gates Mills Boulevard house and said they were with the water department. The caller's elderly mother did not let them in the house and they left the area.

A Mayfield Ridge Road woman called at 7:13 a.m. March 1 and said there was a tent in her backyard and she didn't know if anyone was inside. An officer said it appeared that the tent blew into the woman's yard from another yard and no one was inside.
