Police Blotter: Business Doesn't Want Smokers from Neighbor on Bishop Road

An employee of on Bishop Road called at 4:17 p.m. March 27 about Swagelok employees disturbing customers. They are not allowed to smoke on Swagelok property, so they come over the parking lot to smoke, she said. Swagelok management was aware of the problem and had told employees not to go to the storage lot to smoke, but they keep coming anyway.

A car was parked at 10:56 p.m. March 28 in a church lot on Wilson Mills Road and there was ladder lying against it, which a caller thought was suspicious. Police said the car belonged to the church.

A Highland Road resident reported a dog at large at 11:02 a.m. March 28. The caller said the dog, a tan boxer mix, appeared to crawl into a drainage ditch. Police were unable to catch the dog and said it didn't appear to be injured or sick.

Police talked to two juveniles at 9 p.m. March 24 on Lassiter Drive and told them they could only use their gas-powered scooters on their own property.

A caller said two pitbulls were running loose at 7:49 a.m. March 24 on Miner Road. Both of the dogs had been sprayed by skunks. An officer looking for the dogs picked up a jogger and had her in the car for safety purposes. Police said the dogs were secured on leashes by their owner.
