Police Blotter: Burning Mail Descending from Balcony

A resident was throwing burning mail off of a sixth-floor balcony at 1:15 a.m. Aug. 24 on Mayfield Road. A caller said she asked the suspects to stop, but they continued. Police said the woman wasn't sure exactly where it was coming from.

A woman said she was grocery shopping at 9:04 p.m. Aug. 24 on Mayfield Road when a boy around 14 years old walked by and looked at her in a strange way. She said he then approached her from behind, said, "I have something for you," and pulled out a Bible-type script.

A woman was arrested after a pickpocketing was reported at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 24 at a Golden Gate Plaza store. The woman also had a warrant out of Maple Heights.

A man came into the police station at 4:24 p.m. Aug. 24 after he received a text message from a person that stated she was dead and included a picture of her face. He talked to the woman, who was fine, but thought the message was disturbing.

A woman told police at 12:56 p.m. Aug. 22 that she was in the ladies room of a Mayfield Road restaurant and she thought she saw a camera in the wall. Police checked with the manager and no cameras were found.
