Police Blotter: Bad Crash Puts Driver in Hospital

A Mentor man drove into a guardrail at the intersection of Chargin River Rd. and Wilson Mills Rd. and required medical attention in the early morning hours of Aug. 5. The driver, 22, was sent to for injuries and cited for failure to maintain reasonable control of his vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to wear a seatbelt. It was a single-vehicle accident.
Truck finds guardrail: A truck traveled off the roadway on Berkshire Rd. and struck a guardrail the late morning of July 31. No one was injured in the crash. The male driver, 32, of Columbia Station, was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control of the truck.
Two in accident: A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of County Line Rd. and Sherman Rd. the afternoon of Aug. 1. No one was injured in the crash. A 16-year-old driver from Aurora was cited for a stop-sign violation.

Family feud: A Sugarbush Lane resident said he was receiving threatening messages from his brother during the early morning hours of Aug. 2. The man said his brother had been threatening him via phone and text messages and filed the report in case the situation escalated in the future. An officer subsequently spoke with the brother and advised him to stop any future threatening communication.
