Peacocks Spotted, Profane Trucker: Mayfield Heights Police Blotter

The following information was supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department.

Incidents reported June 11-13:

Wild birds loose: A Longridge Road resident called Mayfield Heights Police June 11 after seeing two peacocks in her backyard.

She said she went outside for a closer view and her eyes did not deceive her. However, the birds took off after seeing the woman. Police advised the city's animal warden.

Obscene trucker: A caller informed police of a truck driver who got rude with Walmart employees June 12 after they asked him to move his 18-wheeler.

According to the call log, the truck was parked close to the wall on the west side of the store's parking lot. When employees asked him to move, he got out of the truck and began yelling profanities.

One of the workers told the man that the police had been called. At that point, the man got back into his truck and a woman exited. She walked away from the scene and the man pulled off. Management told police they would call back if the man returned, but he stayed away.

Skating after hours: A group of teenagers wouldn't stay away from the Mayfield Heights Skate Park, even after it had been closed for nearly two hours.

Police believe the kids jumped a fence around 8 p.m. June 13 and squeezed through and opening, though the park's gate had been chained. Police advised them that the park was closed and they left without incident.
