Man & Woman Arrested for Stealing, Running from Marshalls: Mayfield Heights Police Blotter

The following information was supplied by the Mayfield Heights Police Department.

Incidents reported June 20-21:

Shoplifters run from store: A caller told Mayfield Heights Police that he witnessed a man and woman stealing several items from Marshalls just before 5 p.m. on June 20.

The subjects left the store before police arrived and were seen walking westbound on Mayfield Road. An employee had also notified a manager that the two were acting suspiciously, according to the call log.

About 10 mins later, the man was spotted running towards Fruitland Avenue, while the woman was seen jumping the wall into the Pepperwood Apartments complex. Around the same time, a Huntington Bank employee told police that several blue bags were sitting outside near a truck with nobody around.

Police eventually arrested the woman at  Advanced Auto Parts. Officers then responded to Giant Eagle, where more of the stolen items were found. The man was also arrested.

Doctor threatened: A doctor at Hillcrest Hospital called police June 21 to report that a patient threatened to kill him at his office.

Police initially checked a hospital room the man had been staying and found no weapons. The doctor said he wanted advice and options, but did not file a report.
