Harassing Phone Calls, Theft and More: Gates Mills Police Blotter

On Oct. 23 at at around 6 p.m. a River Oaks Trail resident called the Gates Mills Police Department to report receiving a harassing phone call. The caller said she received a harassing phone message from a person she did not know. The officer spoke with the alleged caller who agreed to not call the complainant any further.

On Oct. 25 at 5:48 p.m. a contractor called police to report the theft of his leaf blower.  The caller said some time earlier in the day an unknown person stole his leaf blower from a Brigham Road driveway where he was working.

An erratic driver was reported traveling eastbound on Mayfield Road on Oct. 25 at 10:58 p.m. An officer found the car and stopped it for a weaving in lanes.  The driver, a 41-year-old man from Chesterland was arrested and transported to the Gates Mills Jail where he was processed on charges of weaving, driving under suspension, no operator’s license, operating a vehicle while intoxicated and having an open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.  He was released from jail after posting bond.

A car accident was reported on Oct. 26 on Mayfield Road. The crash involved two vehicles and there were no injuries. One of the drivers, an 84-year-old female from Chesterland, was cited for failing to maintain reasonable control of her vehicle.
