Mayfield High Graduate Andrew Revello Dies From Car Crash Injuries

Andrew Revello, a 2009 Mayfield graduate, was hospitalized with injuries from a June car crash.

A Highland Heights native and former Mayfield High School baseball standout died this week from injuries related to a car crash.

Andrew Revello, 22, had been hospitalized for more than a month following a car crash in Pennsylvania, but was pronounced dead Wednesday at Cleveland Clinic Hospital, according to a report Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner Administrator Hugh Shannon.

According to a statement from St. Bonaventure University, where Revello was an accounting major and a starting pitcher on the baseball team, the 2009 Mayfield graduate was killed in a crash in Butler Township, Pa. on June 1. Shannon said the autopsy was scheduled for Thursday afternoon, with results coming at a later date.

Revello had been playing for the Butler Blue Sox in the Prospect League this summer, according to The News-Herald's report, .

"We are profoundly saddened to hear of Andrew's passing," University President Margaret Carney, O.S.F., said. "He was a tremendous representative of this university. We extend our deepest condolences to his family, as well as to his teammates and members of the St. Bonaventure community with whom he developed such a strong and lasting bond."

Revello's funeral has been scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, at St. Paschal Baylon Parish.
