School of Rock Welcomes Touring Band The Phuss to The School!!

School of Rock Highland Heights was fortunate enough to host touring band, The Phuss at the school to educate the kids on the importance of our program!

This past Saturday we welcomed touring band The Phuss to the school for a jam session and a Q and A session with students and parents. The Phuss are from Fort Worth, Texas and feature 2 former School of Rock Instructors. Whenever they tour, they try to stop at as many School of Rock locations as possible. Besides jamming out for the students, they like to the time to talk to the kids and answer questions. According to singer/guitarist Josh Fleming, their goal is to educate the kids on how to get the most out of our wonderful program. "You guys are so lucky, I wish they had something like this when I was younger!!" said Joshua to our young rockers in attendance. Joshua also wanted to inform the kids on how to get a band going outside of the program, which is usually the goal for many of our high school students in the program. He also offered some great advice to our kids on how to overcome the stagefright that plagues many of them before a performance. "Remember guys, when you get onstage you're playing for yourself because its what YOU want to do. No one is forcing you to be here. When you realize that you are getting up there and you're playing for yourself, it makes it a lot easier to get up there and perform in front of crowds" advised Joshua. Not bad advice. Oh yeah, they rocked, by the way!!! Seeing the enthusiasm from our students on Saturday proved that the future is bright!
