Time to Round Up Hazardous Waste, Old Computers

Highland Heights is collecting items at service department.

Residents can bring hazardous waste and old computers for collection at the Service Department, 5827 Highland Rd.

The Household Hazardous Waste Roundup runs through April 14, while the Computer Round Up goes through the entire month of April.

Computers, monitors, keyboards and cell phones will be collected from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays through April at the Service Department. City employees will pack the items for delivery to a recycling center.

Pesticides, household chemicals and oil-based paints can be dropped off at the Service Department from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through April 14. Latex paint is not considered hazardous waste and will not be accepted.

Both collection programs are being offered in cooperation with the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District.
