Lonely Hearts in Hillcrest

Dogs, cats and roosters are all part of the club

These animals need forever homes. They’ve all suffered heartbreak from humans, but are willing to try again. Each one has a different story, and each one hopes for a “happily ever after” ending.

You can be the handsome prince or princess by providing love and a safe environment. Click on photos for more information. Forward this to people who might not otherwise see these adoptable animals.

Morgan is a beautiful 1-to-2-year-old hound mix. He lived in Cleveland with a person who loved him, but when he felt overwhelmed with life he let Morgan loose to fend for himself. Donna noticed him because he was playing with kids on their way to school. She came to his temporary rescue and is paying for boarding him at Secondhand Mutts. If you can’t bring him home, then consider making a donation to Mutt Hutt to keep him out of the APL. Be sure to specify it is for Morgan. Any amount is welcome. Contact Donna at 440-785-7163,

Nash has been looking for a soulmate since September of last year. The dog warden picked him up, and he finally found a temporary home at Rescue Village. He loves people, but needs a home without kids. Nash is past his goofy puppy and teen years (he’s about 6) and is very well mannered. As they days go by he has been getting depressed with out someone to love.

Howie a coon hound mix is looking to have humans change his life, but this time for the better. He has been keeping Nash company at Rescue Village, but wants a person, or a whole family in his life. Since he is a hound, a home with a fence and no cats to chase would be ideal.

Pikachu is a hard-working, no-nonsense cat. She has been assisting the administrative offices at Rescue Village for over a year (you should see her walk between the cubes and keep an eye on everyone). She is very regal, and while enjoying a thorough head scratch, is not one to cuddle on your lap, or try to “nest” on your computer as you work. She thinks dogs are OK, but does not like other cats.

Zippy and Zamboni will give you something to crow about – around 9 a.m. These beautiful roosters get along famously and would like to find a home where they could be the only two, or have enough hens to share. Contact Rescue Village for adoption information.
