It seemed like officials spent much of 2011 on deciding what to do about green space near city hall. Of particular interest was a gazebo the Highland Heights Lions Club wanted in celebration of the club's 50th anniversary.
Other big stories in 2011, such as Lance Osborne's plan to redevelop the former Catalano's grocery store site, didn't make for much in the way of visuals – the property continues to be vacant.
For photo opportunities, however, nothing beats the annual Community Day celebration. Games, karaoke and a hot air balloon add up to plenty of Kodak moments.
