Red Cross gets 55 donors right up to rush hour

The American Red Cross received a nice turnout for a blood drive it held Monday at the Mayfield Heights DeJohn Community Center in Meeting Room D.

The Red Cross had 35 people sign up for the day, but 55 donors came to the center before 6:30 p.m.

The event was scheduled to end at 7:30 p.m. with much of the evening crowd yet to arrive.
