Critter Corner: Cyber Monday & Gifts That Make a Difference

If you are reading this column then you certainly have a soft spot for animals. With the holiday gift-giving season now in full swing, here are some gift ideas and activities to suit everyone on your gift list while making you, the gift-giver, happy as well.

Check out these sites for gifts for the animal lover. A portion of all proceeds from these non-profits goes to help animals in need. You can buy an e-card, make a donation in someones name, or order a t-shirt that really makes a statement.

  • Rock for cats: Friday, December seventh, at The Beachland Ballroom & Tavern, 15711 Waterloo Road. Alley Cat Project hosts its 17th annual Rockabilly Holiday Benefit at 7 p.m.  Live music and raffles.

  •  Happy Trails Farm Animal Sanctuary  , Wednesday,December 12th, at Pickwick & Frolic, 2035 East Fourth St.,there will be a happy hour benefit with a celebrity bartending event from 5 to 8 p.m.Auction of sports tickets, raffles and an appearance by the Cavalier Girls will be part of the event.
