5 Things You Need to Know This Week

Neighborhood Watch meeting, benefits scheduled for animal rescue, junior achievement

1. Mayfield Heights will have a Neighborhood Watch meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Ross DeJohn Community Center, 6306 Marsol Road. The meeting is open to the public.

2. Helicopters will be flying over the area to perform inspections on all CEI transmission lines. Haverfield Co. will be performing the inspections and will be flying slowly along the lines.

3. GREENLife Gala, a benefit featuring a healthy eating options, an eco-fashion show and fitness demonstrations, will be from 7-10 p.m. Saturday at Progressive Insurance Corporate Headquarters Wintergarden, 6300 Wilson Mills Road. Master of ceremonies will be Sarah Backhouse of Discovery Planet Green. Tickets are $100 for general admission and $175 for VIP, which includes a reception and art tour starting at 5:30 p.m. For tickets, call 216-831-2080. Proceeds will benefit The Green Dream junior achievement class at Beachwood High School.

4. Snow Melter for the Shelter, a benefit for animals at Rescue Village, will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Federated Church Family Life Center in Chagrin Falls. Tickets are $80 and include dinner and entertainment. For information, call 440-338-4819, ext.19.
