University Hospitals names Robert G. David as President of UH Bedford and Richmond Medical Centers and M. Steven Jones as President of UH Conneaut and Geneva Medical Centers

Mr. Jones also retains leadership of UH Geauga Medical Center

University Hospitals has announced that Robert G. David has been named President of University Hospitals Bedford and Richmond Medical Centers, campuses of UH Regional Hospitals.

In addition, M. Steven Jones, President of UH Geauga Medical Center, will expand his leadership role by also serving as President of UH Conneaut and Geneva medical centers.

“This realignment of responsibilities will strengthen our position and ability to continue delivering the highest quality of care in Northeast Ohio,” said Richard A. Hanson, President, UH Community Hospitals and Ambulatory Network. “Our goal is to enhance health care access for eastside community residents, providing them the most comprehensive services close to home.”

In his new role, Mr. David and his team will concentrate on physician recruitment, quality of care, patient satisfaction and employee and physician engagement. Mr. David has served as President of UH Conneaut and Geneva medical centers since 2008. During his tenure, these critical-access hospitals have earned more than 15 national recognitions for care quality and patient satisfaction.

Mr. David joined UH in 1996 as a Senior Financial Analyst and was promoted to Director of Finance at UH Geneva Medical Center in 1997. He assumed the same role at UH Conneaut Medical Center in 1999.

Mr. Jones joined UH in 2006 as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of UH Geauga Medical Center and was named President in 2010. Under his leadership, the hospital has been nationally recognized for delivering superior-quality care and has added services to meet growing community needs. Recent service enhancements include expanding the UH Seidman Cancer Center at UH Geauga Medical Center, achieving provisional Level III trauma center status, and creating the region’s first hospital-based medical stabilization program for substance addiction.

Mr. David and Mr. Jones will begin transitioning into their new roles in January.
