Business Spotlight: Hot Head Burritos

A few things you should know about Mayfield Heights' newest burrito restaurant

It's been about eight months since a fiery burrito restaurant hit SOM Center Road, and things aren't getting any cooler.

In that span, Hot Head Burritos built a base of regular clients, added to its popular pool of sauces and established a list of daily specials. Mayfield Heights has the only location of the Dayton-based chain in Northeast Ohio.

Store manager Jackie Binion sat down this week to discuss a few things prospective visitors should know about the restaurant and what separates it from well-known competitors.

1. It's All About the Sauce

Patrons can order burritos, bowls, tacos, nachos or quesadillas, but Binion believes it's the sauce selection that has people talking. There are 14 to choose from, and many might seem experimental when it comes to Mexican fare. Those include ranch, buffalo and honey barbecue.

Overall, sauces range from "mild 2 wild," with the Hot Head Signiature Sauce, which is like a zesty garlic, and Sweet Habanero in the running for early favorites, Binion said. Speaking of spices, all of the restaurant's meats are available in spicy or regular form.

2. Stable of Specials

The restaurant offers a different special every day of the week. Hot Head offers two burritos for $10.99 on Sundays and Mondays, with a free cookie attached to the deal on Mondays. Another example is "Facebook Fridays," which offers a different special every Friday for those who visit the chain's Facebook page.

3. The Big Guarantee

"Come out and check us out and I guarantee they will love it and they will come back," Binion said.
