Austin’s Smokin' Steak House

There is more to  than steak. Just stop in to either one of Dan Campbell’s restaurants and find out.

The first question you might ask is why Austin’s? It this part of a new chain coming to Cleveland? Well, its not a chain. It’s locally owned and operated, but was inspired – specifically the smells and tastes – by the owner’s mother, who was from the Lone Star state.

If Texas had a state food it would be steak, if there were a pastime it would be grilling.

What makes Austin’s different is a sense of humor, reasonable prices and a lot of choices. Healthy fries with bacon and cheese are on the awesome appetizer menu. Humor comes through, as it’s noted that these are good for your mental health only. Blackened scallops, Carolina crab cakes and stuffed mushrooms round out the usual choices of wings and onion rings.

The menu is further divided into the Smokin’ Favorites and Ribs section. Fajitas, Texas barbecue, shrimp and St. Louis/original style ribs are just some of the highlights.Pasta is not overlooked, but served with grilled or blackened meats and vegetables.

Sir Loin adds a lighthearted option among other choices such as classic surf and turf, cowboy steak and their signature smoked prime rib. Be advised that limited quantities of prime rib are only served Friday through Saturday after 4 p.m.

Sunday is a special day at Austin’s. There is a huge brunch for under $10. A la carte breakfast staples are also available.

So follow your nose or taste buds and you’ll find that where there is smoke there is Austin’s.
