Musical Opens at Mayfield Village Civic Center

"Little Women" an adaptation of famous American novel

“Little Women: The Musical” opens today at the with the Fairmount Performing Arts Conservatory performing Allan Knee’s adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s famous American novel until July 15.

The musical traces the lives of the March sisters — Jo, Meg, Amy and Beth — as they grow up during the Civil War era. Those scheduled to play the four sisters include Klara Hricik, who will play Jo; Abigail Erwin or Kelly Rienerth, Meg; Elizabeth Hoy or Shea Lee, Amy; and Sara Bogomolny or Hannah Maier, Beth.

Jason Howland wrote the music and Mindi Dickstein the lyrics for the musical that hit Broadway in 2005. Sutton Foster earned a Tony Award nomination for her role as Jo Marsh that same season.

Wednesday through Saturday performances begin at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday matinees begin at 2 p.m. Tickets for adults are $15; seniors, $13; and children, $11.
