Great Escape: Great Geauga County Fair
Enjoy the holiday weekend with a summer tradition.
There are fairs and then there are fairs. The Great Geauga County fair is a sterling example of the latter – the place to close out the summer of 2011. Munch a funnel cake, guzzle some grape juice, and load up your French fries with lots of vinegar and salt. Then and only then, head for the Tilt-a-Whirl. Memories are made of this!
The fair runs through Labor Day at the Geauga County Fairgrounds, 14373 N. Cheshire St., Burton. Admission is $7 for adults, free for children ages 12 and under. Exhibit hall hours are 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and rides operate noon to midnight.
Go ahead and park a mile from the main gate because your fun begins on the hay wagon ride from the parking lot.
