Grab & Go Kids Planner

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

 Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you!

Oktoberfest

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library , 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 1-3:30 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: The Bavarian celebration will feature samples of food (no beer) and music and includes a live cooking demonstration

Flower Fuel For Flight

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks Strawberry Picnic Area parking lot, 1:30-3 p.m. Sunday
Why Go: Try and catch a few monarch butterflies among the New England asters and goldenrod plants
Price: Free – for ages 8 and older with an adult

Outer Space Drawing Lab

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library , 1491 Chagrin River Road, 2 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: Children in grades two to five can draw their ideal universe and bring home their works of art

Just for Teens Tuesday Surprise

Where/When: Cuyahoga County Public Library Mayfield Branch, 6080 Wilson Mills Road, 3:15 p.m. Tuesday
Why Go: Participate in a surprise activity for teens in grades six to 12
Price: Free

Stroller Science

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Center, 10:15-11:15 a.m. Tuesday
Why Go: Search for the monarch butterfly and discover where they grow and go in the fall on a half-mile walk
Price: Free – for ages 2 and younger with an adult
