Grab & Go Kids Planner

We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

 Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

You're time-pressed enough, so we're happy to do the research and find the best things to do and places to go, both locally and within reasonable striking distance.

Look for the kids’ planner each Wednesday, and help us build the planner with your own suggestions and tips — just add them to the comment box. We want to hear from you!

Monarch Magic

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks Nature Center, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday
Why Go: Movies, Saving the Monarchs at 12:30 p.m. and On the Wings of Monarchs at 2:45 p.m.; Lecture on Monarchs and More at 1:30 p.m.; Puppet Show at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.; and music with Peter Niro at noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Family Friday Night: A Swift's Night Out

Where/When: Cleveland Metroparks North Chagrin Reservation Nature Center, 7-8:45 p.m. Friday
Why Go: Celebrate chimney swifts and watch as they swirl around in massive numbers before dropping into a chimney one by one to roost for the night – binoculars recommended
