Unity Day Friday Schedule: Festival Opens at 5 p.m.

Gold Recognition Lunch to honor longtime residents.

The Community Unity Days Festival continues today with a special, invitation-only Gold Recognition Lunch to honor people who have resided in the city for at least 50 years.

The public portion of the today's events will start with the opening of midway rides at 5 p.m. Rides will be open until 11 p.m. and all-day wristbands are $15. Ride tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

Other events scheduled today are:
• 5:15 p.m. – Scott Duress performing music from the '70s, '80s and '90s
• 6 p.m. – A ladder truck demonstration by the Mayfield Heights Fire Department
• 7 p.m. – Jungle Terry
• 7:30 p.m. – Shout! & the Legends of Soul will perform
• 8:30 p.m. – Evolution, Mayfield High School's top band
