Tim Misny, Mike Polk Jr. & Jason Handman Judge Cupcakes at Hillcrest

Hillcrest Hospital raised $2,108 for the American Heart Association at the event.

Though Cleveland attorney Tim Misny deemed all cupcake entries "culinary works of art," only one could be named best overall.

Debbie Klein's double chocolate raspberry cupcake was selected the best overall by Misny, comedian Mike Polk Jr. and 19 Action News weatherman Jason Handman. The three judges tried all 45 entries Friday morning in Hillcrest Hospital's third annual Cupcake Wars.

About 1,800 cupcakes were in the Hillcrest lobby Friday. Some were judged while others were donated and sold to the public. Hillcrest raised $2,108 for the American Heart Association, manager of cardiopulmonary services Lorena Hewitt said.

It took about 45 minutes for judges to reach consensus. With Misny uttering "oh my God" with nearly every bite, it's easy to understand why.

  • Professional — White Almond Cupcake by Andrea Vann of Sweet D's
