Gilmour Academy Students Earn Awards in Art Competition
Gilmour Academy Art Students Are Winners in Scholastic Art & Writing Awards Competition
GATES MILLS, Ohio, January 21—Gilmour Academy students were big winners in the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards completion. In its 91st year, the program recognizes the exceptional vision of America’s youth and provides an avenue through which they can be honored for their creative aptitude.

Gold Key winners Maggie Kubicek ’17, of Mentor-on-the-Lake; Gaetan Langlois-Meurinne ’16, of Cleveland Heights; and Cassie Nannicola ’17, of Novelty will advance to the national competition. Hannah Finotti ’15, of Mayfield Heights, received a Silver Key and Skylar Schambs ’14, of Russell,k received five Silver Keys. Honorable Mention awards were given to Kiley Eble ’15, of Westlake; Finotti; Kubicek (two Honorable Mentions); Ziyi Mo ’16, of Liuzhou, China; Mallorie Piazza ’17, of Wickliffe; Shelby Roberson ’15, of Apex, North Carolina; Ron Ryavec ’16, of Euclid; Brooke Zedar ’16, of Chagrin Falls; and Annie Zupon ’16, of Bentleyville. All the awards for Gilmour students were in the photography category, except for the five given to Schambs for her jewelry/sculpture pieces.
Some of the pieces are on display at the Cleveland Institute of Art through Friday, January 31.

Gilmour Academy is a Catholic, independent, coeducational, college-preparatory school. It is sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross, Notre Dame, Ind., and offers a Montessori program beginning at 18-months-old and a Lower School, Middle School and Upper School. A boarding program is offered to students in Grades 7 through 12. It is located at 34001 Cedar Road in Gates Mills, Ohio.
