The Tri Community CERT is the Community Emergency Response Team for Highland Heights, Mayfield Heights and Mayfield Village Ohio. We currently have 40 volunteer members. We are seeking new applicants, age 18 and  over. The application process includes a criminal background check.  We will be running a training class when we have a sufficient number of new applicants. There are eight classes followed by an emergency response simulation exercise. The classes are held weeknights for eight consecutive weeks; make-up classes are held as required to help applicants graduate. After completion of the classes applicants receive a free backpack that includes a high visibility vest, helmet, goggles, flashlight, multi-purpose tool, gloves and other safety items. You will learn valuable skills that are good to know to protect your family, and that can also help your communities in the event you are needed to help. Our team has assisted Safety Forces in our communities with many activities including checking on residents during power outages, community events, helping residents in a neighboring community after an apartment fire, Halloween police ride-along and at warming centers. We are trained and ready to assist in the event of a major disaster as well.
